Yearly Events
CICC Education Fair:
The department hosts a college education fair annually in the first week of August. Surrounding colleges are invited to come and show what they offer in academics, sports, and career choices.

Summer Session: 
Every summer, the Education Department provides a four-week summer session program in June. Our program focuses on a 1st through 12th grade curriculum, based on the California Standards, specializing in Language Arts, Math, Science, Life Skills Education, and Physical Fitness.

Our Goals

• Provide assistance for students with all subjects
• Present different learning techniques to children (not all children learn the same way or the same phase).
• Provide a safe learning environment
• Meet with parents with updated progress for both tutoring and school
• Encourage and assist high school students with college and career planning
• To provide varying learning techniques that may be used throughout the course of the year, so that all students are given the opportunity to succeed.
• As Liaisons, we must be facilitators of discussion through productive questioning and support of student’s own ideas, continually learning from them while encouraging them to learn from one another.

Our Services
After School Tutoring:
In after school tutoring, our staff provides support for Tribal students of CICC who need to advance and achieve in their academics. We offer in-classroom support as well as teacher communication/conferences.

Reading Support: 
We offer Reading Circles on Wednesdays to engage students more in reading comprehension and fluency, as well as offering family reading involvement. Other reading programs we offer also include Accelerated Reading, Read Naturally, and Star Fall.

Brigance Training: 
We are training to learn more about this assessment system and hoping to continually learn more about our students and how to effectively tutor them.

College/Scholarship Support:
We offer scholarship assistance to help students understand how to look for scholarships that cater to their interests and start them on the right path to a successful career.

GED/Higher Education Support:
We offer assistance with GED preparation and locate testing sites.
